About Blackberry Pines Farm
Our Mission
Blackberry Pines Farm is privately owned property. Our primary motivation is to create a self-sustaining farm and a Learning Center Facility by which we create our livelihood. The farm and facility are available for use by communities of varied spiritual paths and processes. We are people of spirit, of diverse sexes, genders and orientations coming together. Our goal is to provide a safe space for those on our land.
Living Sustainably
All of our animals are free ranged. We supplement their food that we buy from the Bloomingdale Farm and Feed an Amish run feed mill. Our meat birds are raised on NON-GMO Feed.
We raise Freedom Raingears as well as Cornish Cross and some Turkeys.

Our Facility
We offer land use options for groups up to 150 people to run their own events. There it space for workshops, camping, and a place for large dinners to be served. Kitchen facilities are rustic but we have a stove , refrigerator and microwave access for our guest. Our guest room come with a private bath, use of the massage room, refrigerator, coffee pot and microwave.
A Rustic Farm Retreat
Our property is clothing optional with lots of space to wander. For those that like a more rustic stay we have outside facilities, a privy, shower house and large bath tub to soak in. You can offer to help in the gardens and with the animal care or just come for a stay on the farm. There is a barn with refrigerator, coffee pot, stove top and micro wave, (no running water in the barn).
Our guest room comes with a private bath, use of the massage room, refrigerator, coffee pot and microwave.

Hello, My name is Jim Ekhardt and I am a Michigan Licensed Massage Therapist. I have been doing body work since 1993. After 3 years of training I graduated with a degree of Advanced Massage therapist. Contact me if you are interested in scheduling a massage. My cost is $80 on hour

We offer overnight stays with the use of our guest room with its private bathroom. There are 2 communal rooms, the massage room and the 3 season lanai off the back of the house. The lanai has spectacular views of the property and gardens. A perfect space to have your morning cup of coffee.

Our poultry is all raised free range. Special portable coops are used for the birds with fencing to allow the birds to fun free all day long

All of our plants are gown organically. We produce over 80% of our own food which we can or freeze as well as eat fresh. If you are interested in learning how we produce our food or would like to garden on our land, let us know.

We purchase bottle lambs every other year. We have some meat available but most of our Lamb products are raised for our personal stocks. Contact us if you are intersected in helping us raise lambs and are interested in getting your own lambs to raise. We also have contact to other lamb raisers in the area.

As of 2023, we are no longer raising Peacocks for resale. We have a few birds left to sell but are not raising chicks anymore. Our personal pet Peas wander the property in their cage free area. It's a pleasure to see them dance every day.
